This article talks about a three-month trial by the Massachusetts State Police of Boston Dynamics’ dog-like robot, Spot . The article presents an interesting, if somewhat one-sided, discussion of potential civil liberties concerns raised by the use of Spot by police. Dog robots have great potential for “sniffing” out situations that are too dangerous for humans, not to mention dogs of the warm and friendly kind.
